    .net framework

I'm sure I've asked this question before but cannot find it now in My Posts. I wish I could narrow down those "My Posts" in a way that I could find these old threads of mine.

I'm creating a Sysprep image and wanting to get .NET FRAMEWORK Installed just for good measure. Some printers seem to need 4.5 or .6 so I want to be prepared as sometimes this will cause me more time than I would like, and the Printer download site don't tell you this.

I've done a little research and see that Windows 7 comes with 3.5, but needs to be activated. I don't know what activated means, does this mean it will be downloaded after going to Control Panel and Activating it? I've done this in Windows 8.1, but it's been a long time and can't remember exactly what happened.

Do I need 3.5 to be installed/activated to Install the 4.0 Series? I'd rather not waste time with 3.5 if I don't need to.

Should I go ahead and install 4.7 while I'm at it, and if so can I just skip 4.6?

I read up on all this but none of these questions were answered.

    Thanks, Nasty7

.net framework v3.5 was superceded by the 4.x series long ago. if your Win 7 is up to date, you should have a later version than 3.5. Is your Win 7 up to date?

Yes, it is up to date. Just installed 4.7.2 so I'm all good now I guess.

    Thanks Wither 2
