No Apps Listed Above Start > All Programs

After creating a 2nd user in my Win7 laptop, when I click the Start button the only entry that appears is All Programs. When I click on that I see a listing of installed programs and apps. Why doesn't anything appear above All Programs, and what can I do to restore normal operation?

What account type did you set the new user up as?

    Hello

This is the default behaviour of the Start Menu. Recent Items would be blank because this is on a new account profile.

You can check the settings under
Right-mouse click Start Menu, then select Properties from the pop-up list.
In Taskbar and Start Menu Properties, Start Menu Tab, under Privacy, select
Store and display a list of recently opened files, and
Store and display a list of recently opened programs.
    Select Apply when your done.

!Paul Black - I set the original account and the 2nd account to Administrator.

@iko22 - I didn't mean "recently opened files" or "recently opened programs". I meant the list of installed programs that appears above the "All programs" slot.

Since all are still under 'All Programs' normal 'operations' are unaffected. On my machine I have only what I want there. Simply clik the 'All Programs', navigate to the desired program, r-clik and select 'pin to start menu'. Use the link provided by iko22 as your guide for the defaults.
