OS on C: 120GB SSD; Forcing Programs to D: 1TB Internal Drive

I want to have only my OS on my C: drive, a 120 GB SSD and all my programs on my D: drive, a 1TB Blue WD drive.

Some programs ask my where to load it, but other do not.

How do I force those programs who do not give me an opportunity to select where to load the program to the D: drive?

    Thanks!

I have a small (128G) SSD with (win 7 + Programs) in one 85G partition and Lubuntu on a 40G partition.
Using Kari tutorial I have moved C:\users to D:\users. Works very well.

I would leave Program Files, Program Files (x86) and ProgramData on C:

As you can see, I have a D:\Programs where I install Very large gaming programs and antivirus.

I can guide you on moving C:\users to D:\users

Not having programs on the SSD largely negates the advantages of using one. There are registry entries available to move "Program Files" but Microsoft does not recommend this and there are known issues. Most applications have an option to install to a chosen drive.
