I'll give it a try, but I used Uniextarctor before (though this one is different) and I don't recall it decompiling DLLs. Just exe's, etc.

What do you mean exactly by "contents"?
Resource Hacker deals with, well, the resources of files. But a DLL (as well as EXEs too) can contain some other section types as well, like code, data, text, relocation tables and the like.

What is the purpose of such comparison?

Does it really matter? People and code writers compare DLLs all the time. Truth of the matter is I was trying to help someone on another board with a DLL issue and I needed the ability to compare and contrast DLLs and the code they contain in a preferable format like Resource Hacker.

Restore DLLs from other edition?
I recently downgraded from Ultimate to Home Premium (Both 7 x64). Instead of re-editing some DLLs I have replaced, can I just restore them using Norton Ghost? (shell32.dll, imageres.dll, and shellbrd.dll)
