Software still supported in Windows 7

list of software that continues to support windows 7

Example:

Good news for windows 7 users:
MS will continue to provide definition updates for mse until 2023

More good news:
Your Norton products will continue to support Windows 7 for the foreseeable future.

They haven't defined foreseeable future, but it is reasonable to take that to mean at least as long as MSE i.e 2023. Thankfully, they won't be adding any more "features"

Hardware too. For example:

For windows 7 users:

X570 motherboards from ASUS, GIGABYTE, and MSI run windows 7. Only some ASRock X570 motherboards do not.

If you are buying a new mobo, avoid ASrock

They may still add new features. XP potentially could get new features until June 2018 when it was move to Maintenance Mode (definitions only). Windows 7 is not in Maintenance mode yet.

Quote:
Maintenance Mode means that the Norton client security software installed on Windows XP and Windows Vista will continue to receive certain services, like malware definition updates, but that certain other services, like new product capabilities, will no longer be provided.

No Windows Aero Supported
I have an older laptop with XP that I plan to install Windows 7 on. I ran the Windows Advisor and the only thing lacking is the Aero Support. I don't use this PC all that much and am not keen on buying a new graphics card. What will it be like without Aero? Is it really bad or just like XP was?...
