    locking files

does anyone know of any programme that locks files, but I wanted one that I can right click and choose something like 'lock this' and it locks it with a standard global password or it asks for a new password for that file.

I have customer details on my pc and have occasionally accidentally deleted and almost lost details... I am running 7 professional 64bit

    thank you

Thanks for the reply.. I did install it and found the 'free version' is really a 15 times trial, and also every time you want to unlock anything, this programme would have to open, setting off the UAC.. I don't think that one is for me, but thank you

I use 7zip and then the hidden folders-do not show trick.

If you want them really hidden, there are programs that will not only encrypt but hide them within another file. Lots of information--google. But maximumpc online had a story on the options not so long ago.

I wouldn't use TrueCrypt - if you read through the manual, you'll find that fragmented hard drives may give away the location of a hidden volume.
