    Jumpy Autoselect in Microsoft Word

How do I turn off the jumpy autoselect in MSWord? I remember finding a dropdown menu in Word 2000 that addressed this problem. Now I can't remember the menu and term.

I much prefer putting the cursor where I want to start and dragging it to the end than to find that 'AI" is anticipating what it perceives I want to do and overshooting or going the wrong direction.

    thanks

"Open submenus when I pause on them with the mouse pointer" Selected

Under "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" for the item

"Open submenus when I pause on them with the mouse pointer"

the selection box was checked. When I unchecked it, the problem ceased.

Is there a chance that this 'wonderful feature' was selected by default as designed by the programmers and I never noticed it before?

    Solved
