    Open Office . Org

Ok, so I have openoffice.org and every time I go to open it under my taskbar, it wants to not open. I press control alt delete together and then task manager to see what is going on. I find under processes, that openoffice is taking up about 50% of my dual-core cpu. When I check the gauges on my desktop, core 1 and core 2 are both 100% maxed out. What is going on here? I just want open office to open normally. Instead, it won't open at all.

Have you tried removing it and re-installing? I know that's a PITA, but it's still a very possible solution...

I have the newest version of open-office. I think it is 3.1. And yes, I have tried re-installing it a good 3 or 4 times. I have no idea what to do.

Do OpenOffice say their software is completely W7 ready? Sounds like an over-obvious question, but I'm not a customer of theirs and only really need M$ Word personally... so I'm not sure of the state of play...

However I did find a post which may help you on the authors forums...

It works fine on my Windows 7 32bit. Do you have Java installed?

EDit: Short of that maybe there's a program conflict or something is wrong with your configuration.

The upgrade from Vista may be causing this.

A clean install will probably fix it.

Check your software compatibility here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/com...s/default.aspx.
