Looking for PDF reader with simple edit facility

I have a number of manuscripts in PDF form that need editing. Is there a PDF reader with a simple and direct editing system? By simple, I mean easy as, say, editing and saving with Microsoft Word.

If you have office 2016, word can read and edit PDF files and save it again as PDF

Hi Sven. Do you mean that Word 2016 converts the PDF to Word, allows edits, then converts it back to PDF? Thing is, I don't want to lose any of the original PDF settings, like layout, punctuation etc.

You can use LibreOffice to load an unprotected PDF. For direct manipulation (if the PDF isn't protected. There are ways around that) I use PDF-XChange. Others will have their personal preference like Sumatra, et al. But I don't think Sumatra has editing.

Foxit does have editing as well the last time I used it.

Run through this: Search for freeware and shareware at SnapFiles

F22, thanks for the tips, I'll try PDF-XChange.
    Cheers
