    No messages. It just skips the drive and goes to the next one in the boot order. This is after manually and specifically selecting the flash drive from the boot menu.

    needs nt6 mbr and the windows partition marked active

    Then you will need to create the boot critical files on the usbstick windows partition ( presumably the original are in the system reserved partition on the source disk )

    It is quite easy just one command from admin cmd propmt

    bcdboot usbletter:\windows /s usbletter:

    e.g.

    bcdboot f:\windows /s f:

    - - - Updated - - -

    In case you need to fix the osletter you can use the little thing wot I made

    BCDBOOTDISKv28x64.zip

    Wow! Thank you so much!

    I've completed the steps up to and including the cmd prompt "bcdboot I:\windows /s I:" (see results in pic below). But it'll be sometime later before I go through trouble to shut down my computer and try booting from the flash drive. But I look forward to trying.

    And I went ahead and downloaded the BDCBOOTDISK program along with the helpful screenshots for keepsakes.
