Looking for opinions on LapLink PC Mover Software. W7 to W10 OR W11.

    Still searching for a solution.
Being the Novice, it's got to be easy and bullet proof.
What can any Forum Members tell me about:
LapLink's PC Mover Software, the version with the "Super speed cable" for PC to PC transfers.

I viewed a number of You Fool Videos but wanted a more critical opinion vs a pseudo sales pitch.

    Thanks in advance.

To me, such a software (not just this one, but all of those offering similar features) are highly unreliable and make strong claims that are unable to completely fulfil.

The reason is pretty simple: To correctly move a program from one computer to another you have to know what the program needs to work and replicate those on the target computer. There is no way any software could possibly know that. They can look in the list of installed programs, search for files possibly related to it, do the same in the registry and copy all those over. Some programs may work, others may not, there is no way to know for sure and you must test it by yourself, and fix the errors afterwards.
Some of it may work, but the rest may be unreliable and with some errors.

The only sure way to have a proper installation is to download the proper installer and run it in the target system, so the final state is determined by its own installer (that of course knows what it needs). That's why it's important to backup the installers of your programs.

Software claiming it can migrate software from system to system is at best unreliable and may not work at random places. I would stay away from them.
