    Windows Media Player 12?

    Hello,

I am using WMP 12 to listen to music.
The problem is that at my HDDs there are a lot of songs and a lot of folders with songs.
If I import all these folders to the Library of WMP, the application says all the time "Updating Library : -A directory with a music folder-".
This will make my system slow.
And also WMP will delay a lot ( about 1 minute) to make visible the list of the songs in my Library.

There is no progress bar or anything to inform me about the progress of this procedure. right? :-S

    Is there any other way?

    Thank you for your time.

Get a WMP folder from the C:\Program Files of another system and stick it into your Program Files. Plus you then may want to set the default associations. A completely different option is to get VLC ( http://filehippo.com/download_vlc/ ). That is a good music and video player.

Tbh, i don't think WMP handles large amounts of music files well, i use Winamp for my 10,000+ songs, and it scans once to add all the files, takes less than 3-4 mins, and i never have to scan for music ever again, until i get new music, then i just let it scan again, which takes about 30 seconds (since it only searches for new music). Hope this helps.

    Thank you for the reply.
I know that Winamp is faster as this is the other player I've installed after I saw this problem with WMP.
BUT I haven't used Winamp again and WMP fits me better.

That is why I want to use WMP.

Do you think there is a way?

I know about the skin, I have downloaded it, but still it seemed not helpful for me. :P

At WinXP with WMP 11 there was no problem.
Do you suggest installing WMP 11?
Is there any way to do that?

What do you mean what kind of music files?
    (.wav, .mp3 ?)

I don't suggest installing WMP 11 at all, but if you still want to:

    That should help.

Why don't you suggest me to do so?

I am now adding again the songs at my library.
    There are now 33.000 songs.
WMP 11 could easily work with these (and more).
That is why I thought about it.
