Sorry whest, still the same.
It seems to be a problem that the files cant locate the excel - have you tried moving them into another folder or changing file locations in excel - i also read it sometimes works if you open excel - click file - click open - then browse to the file - my only other suggestion would be to uninstall office and reboot the pc then try installing it before you open anything - and then update it.
Also look at all the 3rd party software you have installed - is any of it likely to have an add-on to office. Windows update - are there any updates yet to be installed to windows live messenger etc?
You could try this also:
start -> cmd (run as admin) SFC /scannow
that checks to see if you have any corrupt system files
Havnt tryed reboot cos dont know how, but cmd not worked.
Reboot just means you restart the pc - click start - then right down the bottom on right it says shut down click on that, or the arrow, and select restart - this reboots windows (reloads drivers etc).
If you uninstall/reinstall office you have to update office again.
Open command prompt - start - all programs - accessories - command prompt - right click command prompt and select run as administrator
*when you type - SFC /scannow - in command prompt dont forget to include a space between SFS and / or the command wont function and then press enter.
Locate the file in Windows Explorer.
Right-click the file, and then click Save As.
In the Save As dialog box, click one of the following Excel 2007 file formats in the Save as type box, and then click Save:
Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Workbook (*.xlsx)
Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Macro-Enabled Workbook (*.xlsm)
Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Binary Workbook (*.xlsb)
When the save is complete, click OK.
Hi Whest, I do not understand the instruction, ie what file to open?
Chris
