MS 2000 giving me trouble

First of all Hi to all, having just upgraded to Win 7 I’ve found some of my old programs wont work “load|” first one is MS2000 and the second one is Mavis beacon teaches typing! great to teach the kids!
Now the problem I’m going to have is when using two different computers for the same project, I keep getting offered to try MS2007 free for 60 days but don’t really want to fork out for it having already purchasing "2000" years ago “ not tight just don’t need it” is there anything I can do?
Many thanks
Jim

Hi Jim,

Were you able to install the programs? If so, did you try to run them in compatibility mode (see pic).

Also what error message are you receiving? this can help pinpoint the exact problem.

You could also search for 'free typing tutor' software for the kids as a replacement option. "free typing tutor" for kids - Google Search

EDIT: ha..... compatibility mode.... you all beat me to it

I recently noticed that the system was trying to do 7 updates every day at closedown, and found that update was giving a return code of 800736b3. I have run SURT several times, and it doesn't seem to give any results (or should I be looking somewhere else?). I ran sfc /scannow and extracted...
