    CCleaner - How to securely erase


    I have just installed CCleaner and am wondering how to securely erase files and folders using this software. If I right-click on the Recycle bin the context menu shown includes "Run CCleaner". Is this it?

    I don't know of a way to erase individual files using CCleaner. Try using Eraser, or another similar program.

    CCleaner can wipe free space on drives, if that's what you are thinking about.

    Yes,, and in options you can choose how many passes when it does it's clean up, that option is global when cleaning up. There are options to also do folders etc, but I don't use it.

    I also recommend Eraser.

How would one securely erase a SSD? Use the "clean all" command, use DBAN and do a quick erase or DOD wipe? Delete the partitions and do a regular format? Do any of these methods hurt a SSD? I've read that too many read/writes can hurt a SSD after a while. Was that on older SSD's or do the newer...
Can an SSD be securely deleted of data? I read somewhere that there is no way to be sure one has scrubbed it clean as it's digital unlike the old HDDs.

Recently someone in USA hacked my gmail account, I normally use "Lastpass" for save password, but now i think its not secure. Is it OK if i put my passwords into text files (encrypted) and save it my PC. Because if i forget them i can't use my emails ad FB accounts. Is it ok if i save passwords...
