    problems installing BBC iPlayer

I have been using this facility for some time on an XP computer. However, on 7, it keeps telling me that "another instance of Adobe Air is already present on the system". If it is, I can't find it to disable it! Program suggests I "reinstall in another location". I don't know how to do that: most win 7 progs seem to do their own thing, and don't give the opportunity to choose a location. Or is this just me not knowing how to work the new baby?

Have you checked in Programs and Features? I know that Adobe Air appeared in mine without me specifically installing it. I think that this happened when I installed Adobe Reader.

You havent been required to download and install a program for iplayer for some time now. I think its only if you want to download programmes.
