Windows Live Messenger - Webcam Issue on Netbooks

I have the Acer Aspire One 531 running Starter and has an inbuilt cam.

I installed messenger but it only has the option for viewing cams in the small size, now im guessing this is just due to the size of the thing but is there any way around this?

What do you mean "in a small size"
If youre reffering to the fact that you see only a litte screen of your self, dont worry, the other guy will see a bigger image of you. If you want to enlarge your own image, it should be somewhere in the settings (in ubuntu now, cant check)

well you know when you like, click on the little down arrow next to the cam and it says 'Size', it doesn't have the options Small, Medium and Large, only small.

I know its probably because its a netbook, but i just wondered if there's any way of getting around it because the screen is small enough as it is without the cams being tiny too.

If I use my Asus Netbooks built in webcam the resolution of the 1.3Mp camera is more than enough for Messenger, my correspondents see me as large as they would anyone else - but if I'm using Logitech Vid then the higher my webcam resolution the larger an image of my end gets hotwired to whomever I'm talking with...

Don't you think the program knows what your screen resolution is, and removes the options which cannot be accommodated on too small a number of pixels?

If you have another screen, plug it in, then change the size, then plug it out. See if that works

With a little browsing, this appears to be a known issue. Only thing anyone recommends is to go back to the previous version of MSN.
