    Botched downgrade to WMP11.

As the title says, I tried downgrading to WMP 11 and everything went tits up, I guess I've got a mix of WMP 11 and WMP 12 files as well as a registry entry that I was told to edit.

I've ran the SFC file checker thing and I'm still getting nothing. It's not a disaster as I am running Itunes but I'd still like to have the option.

    Cheers.

I downloaded the upgrade from Vista, so I'm not sure how I'd go about doing a repair install.

Where would I find what restore points I have?

    Cheers

If whoever gave you the advice regards all this was worth their salt in any manner then they'd have also advised you to make a registry and system backup, and you would have been able to restore everything.

As far as I know there's no guarantee that the downgrade is reliable or effective!
