Windows 7: problems uninstalling program completely. Help?

I used CCleaner and did a clean up of files. After getting rid of a bunch of system temporary files it seemed to remedy the problem. I've had it installed and working fine in a directory i created outside the program files(x86) directory so I'm going to leave it that location primarily because its an application I'll be applying mods to and i think that is where the trouble started when i started applying mods to a file located in the program files folder. I never touched the registry.

A very big thank you to all of you that helped me.. really appreciate it.

The only registry stuff involved is when i reinstall and before running it for the first time i just reapply the saved registry i've had when i purchased the game. It does install fine though in a different directory its just trying to reinstall clean into the directory it was in when the problem occurred isn't resulting in a clean install.

I used to create a restore point before installing anything new, and now that i'm back using windows it looks like i really have to be diligent about doing this.
You may want to try what I have. System Restore once a week or when I make a change. System Image Once a month. SI is kept off my HD, since it is insurance for crash, etc.

Adding a restore point at the times you suggested is a great idea and one i'll be doing always from now on. Also, while i was poking around win7 ( just started using it and still finding things out) i did see that there is a utility in there to create an image which is pretty awesome. Creating one once a month like you suggested is another great idea i'll be employing.

Bios F4 GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - BIOS - GA-P55-UD3R (rev. 1.0)

If so , drivers for your board GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - Driver - GA-P55-UD3R (rev. 1.0)

By default SR makes an image on schedule. You can adjust the schedule by going to the task scheduler. Type the name in search to find TS.
