    What about Europe?

The European variant of the LF-PK1 rejects the Windows 7 version of US Location Free Player. Is there a Windows 7 version of the software for european devices? Alternatively, can the XP version be modified to work on Windows 7?

    Hi kaveet,

I don't think it's a region issue. As I said to kmc12, try using the Vista version. It worked fine in Windows 7 for both kmc12 and the OP. See Page 1 for the link, and let me know if you have any issues.

    Cheers,

Tried that one already thanks, but to no avail. Software installs fine, but it refuses a connection to the device (or rather as the pop-up message says, the device rejects the software for being of the wrong region). Shame really, because it works so well under XP!

Can't Register using Windows 7 Professional

In both client and AP mode, I'm not able to connect.
I'm using latest Vista player on the web.

I can register and connect using an XP box, and Windows 7 Home Premium box, but not a Windows 7 64 Professional one. When I go through the screens to register it
says it registered ok, and then it says it will restart the base station. After a few minutes, it fails with the msg:
Cannot connect to the Base Station.
Check your Domain Name/IP Address and confirm that you are connected to the internet.
When I log into the base station I see that it indeed registered (added) my box info. I can use the same box to log into the base station admin/config utility, so I know my box can talk to the base stattion. It just can't establish a video connection.

More info on Can't register with Win 7 Pro

I recreated similar issue on a Windows 7 Home Premium. Found out if
I temporally disable the AVG 2011 anti-virus protection, it works. So it looks like its an issue with AVG and LocationFree. I doubt AVG will fix this since LocationFree isn't officially supported on Win 7.
