Did you try running it as an administrator?

How long did you wait before you killed setup??? Did it quit with an error message? here is a link that will help you locate the logs (if there are any):
Aaron Stebner's WebLog : Visual Studio 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5 setup log files

How many times have you tried to install vs 2008??? You may need to run thru the system registry and delete any references there. I've seen this cause a problem before.

BTW I have vs 2008 running fine under Win 7 Ultimate X64. There WERE some issues about compatibility that were fixed after the install. Also make sure you have the very latest ver. of the Windows installer on your pc. Do a google search for it.

    Good luck!

    Thanks every one so much.
The version VS2008 i have, while install it was not apper every problem, it's just close first form, and nothings.
I'd install .NET Framework 3.5. and try to reinstall so many times, but haven't reusult.
"pweegar" can you detail "How many times have you tried to install vs 2008??? You may need to run thru the system registry and delete any references there. I've seen this cause a problem before.", i'd search on google and tried to delete some referent key in registry.

If you're just downloading it to test VS 2008 out, you could try and use VS 2010 Beta 2 instead. You can use it free for almost a year. Are you just going to test it, or do you have a paid license for 2008?

I mean, did you try to install visual studio more than one time? Did you run the setup program more than once???? If so, you may need to run regedit, search for vs2008 and delete all those keys in the system registry. Then try to install vs2008.

HOWEVER, if you do NOT feel comfortable running regedit, find some one who does feel comfortable with runing regedit and have him/her do the search and removal.

If you use an extracted version from an ISO file, try loading it to an ISO mounting software such as Power ISO or else actually burning files to a dvd and try running from it.

    Bump, same problem.

    Tried, as administrator.
Disabled all non-microsoft services in msconfig
    Booted in safe-mode
    Disbaled Anti-virus.

Still when clicking on Install Visual studio, it doesn't do anything.
