Macruim Reflect free - can't choose multiple partitions

I have been trying for months to get this program to work for me. I have it working okay, but when I get to this point I can't choose more than one partition. I think this is what's going wrong. Could it be an incompatibility with the keyboards not letting the CTL key work? (I've thied 3) This is just an image from the tutorial....not my actual image.

I cannot choose BOTH partitions I backed up. It restores ONE partition great and FAST! I love it...I want to use it for all systems, but I have to figure this out! It's so FAST...unbelievable!

I have tried making the rescue CD with compatibility mode and every other feature in "advanced" options when making it. I am also following the tutorial on their web page to the letter.

I have tried a PS/2 and USB keyboard....because it will not let me choose BOTH partitions.

If anyone is familiar with this program (SIW2 for example) please let me know what the heck I'm doing wrong. I have tried and tried and tried some more.

Sure you can. I have several XML files where I backup C and N (a data partition) together. Just check the boxes in the "Create backup wizard".

Yea these are one more reason I want to use Macrium

I have just not been able to restore multiple partitions. Only ONE partition. I have a test computer (listed as "system #2 in specs" it's running Win 7 Pro x64 and I can't restore more than one partition. I can created the image...but it will not restore them.

I am now trying Paragon 10.1 Free to see if that will work.

I am just thinking I am doing something wrong with Macrium. It works so well and fast....I want to make it work.

Have you been able to restore multiple partitions with 64 bit Windows 7?

I am all 32bit - so I cannot answer the question. But in my system, it asks during the restore which partition(s) of the image to restore. And have restored 2 partitions at one time. Why should it work differently in 64bit.

I think there are a lot of people who get these programs, create the image and hope they never need it. I think a lot of people keep these images on a HD and don't want to risk restoring it unless they need it. I like to try restoring before I depend on a program and the only dependable one I have tried so far is Windows own imaging tool.

I don't know why Macrium would not let me choose multiple partitions, but I can't restore with it, so I can't use it until I find out what I'm doing wrong. It's probably something I'm doing when making the CD....I think I have tried all combinations (in advanced options and with no advanced options)

Maybe there is a bug in 64bit. I have restored several times without problems - one partition and 2 partitions together.

Could be. I have been working on it for hours now. I don't think my keyboards are working. I can't get the CTL key to work so I can choose multiple partitions to restore. I can create the image, but not restore them. I am just as well off to use the Windows 7 image creator. I guess I will just stick to that until I find the answer. I ahve tried 4 keyboards now....USB and PS/2.

Thanks for trying to help whs. Have a great day (or night as the case may be where you are)

    I know this is an old thread, but I was working with "tech support" for Macrium and was told;
The rescue wizard only allows you to restore one partition at a time. You can use the Ctrl key to select multiple partitions to overwrite with the restored partition.
Therefore, it takes 2 runs for me to restore the MBR special 100MB partition and the actual C drive.

Edit: This could be due to the fact that I have 3 total partitions
    1). 100MB system reserved
    2). XXGB C drive
3). XXGB E drive: Where I actually store my images.

When I backed up, I only said I wanted #1 and #2....I didn't want #3. it's possible that if I had backed up to an external drive and did the entire disk in the backup, I could restore the entire disk during the restore. I will get an answer for this later and update this post.

Have you tried searching this site?

Macrium Reflect Disk Imaging and Backup - Support

I've used Macrium free and paid for awhile but I've never tried restoring multiple partitions in one shot myself.

pparks1, during the restore it asks you wether you want to restore the MBR. Have you tried that or does that not work because your MBR is on a different partition.
