    If you want to monitor who is downloading things on your network you really need to run a real firewall/IDS (intrusion detection system), a good one to look at is "Endian" Endian - Open Source Firewall Appliance - UTM Linux Security Distribution

    The above application will let you run "Snort" rules Snort :: rules, which will allow you to choose what kinds of traffic are logged.
