Anyone found a (free) version of FSCapture, that runs w

    Hi
Have any of you guys found a (free) version of FSCapture that works with Windows 7 (64bit) ?

    Background
We use the old version (v5.3) which I think was the last free version - on WinXP, and we LOVE it, because we find it a real time saver for marking up change requests to screenshots...

However when running under Win7 64bit, the drawing tool has a bug and wont allow you to save your markups...

    Cheers

Which version of Windows 7 do you have, and have you tried running FSCapture in either Windows XP Compatibility, or if you have Windows 7 Pro or better, Windows XP Mode?

    I am using Windows 7 Professional 64bit, version 6.1 version (build 7600).

How do I run an application in WindowsXP mode?

    Cheers

To run an app in XP Mode, you will need to install the virtual machine, provided free from Microsoft for the Professional edition or higher.

    Download Windows XP Mode

I seem to have been able to do run in XP mode already. Do I still need that download, then?

If you haven't installed it already, you will need to.

Right click on the icon, choose properties, click on the 'compatibility tab, then check the box next to XP with SP3

I run it in XP SP3 compatibility and as an Administrator. Seems to do just fine with that in Windows 7 x64.

Compatibility Mode and XP mode are 2 different things.

XP mode is a reference to a Virtual XP OS you can run in Windows Virtual PC.

Compatibility mode is just running an application with settings optimized for the OS you set it to. You only need to run FSCapture in compatibility mode from it's shortcut. You don't need to install XP Mode for that.

    Thanks - nice one Airbot.

Btw, is there any significant down-side to installing XP Mode (other than about half a GB of disk space?)
