Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Product Key

Hi I'm trying to install the student's version of Windows 7 64bit and the install is going well and then I get to the part where I have to enter in the Product Key. I entered the one that was on cd sleeve for the Windows 7 disk and got a wrong product key message, so I thought maybe I needed to enter the product key for the version I'm upgrading from, so I entered in the product for the windows xp disk I have and go the wrong product key message again. So I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do.

Has anyone else had to problem or know how to fix it?

do you have a retail key, or OEM key? Did you purchase an upgrade or full?

Hello Alkaline, welcome to the Seven Forums.

This tutorial should tell you what to do.

    Good luck.

I purchased the one from the college bookstore which says I have to be upgrading from a previous Windows OS.

It's the OEM, all I got was the CD in the sleeve with the product key sticked stuck on the sleeve.
