    Photoshop Elements 8 Installation Issue

    G'day!

I have the purchased CD of Photoshop Elements 8 which was previously installed on my old computer running XP sp2. I now have a new computer with Windows 7 and cannot get PSE 8 to install at all. I've tried all the little tricks from the PSE 8 support site, but nothing is working. At first I was getting the Error Code 1303 when I try to install. Now it just says that the installation has stopped.

I've tried Take Ownership, disabled User Account Control, Run as Administrator. I'm logged in as Administrator, but it will not load. I had the same problem with Diskeeper Pro 2009 and even their tech support couldn't help me. It must be a setting that I can't get to, or some registry conflict.

It must be my error, but I can't find it.

Anyone out there that can help me?

Thanks so much for any assistance.

For some reason, while I was on HOLD (for 45 minutes) with Adobe, I decided to try it ONE MORE TIME from the CD, not per their instructions. IT WORKED!!! Thanks to everyone for whatever help you contributed...
