How do I uninstall Shark007 codec pack?

I'm not sure whether this is the culprit, but I used to have a "convert WTV to DV RMS" option when I right clicked on a wtv file, but that's no longer in my menu shell.....anyway, it says go to the HELP tab of the settings application to uninstall.....but what does that mean?

Every other program I have offers the option to either repair or uninstall, but this one only offers repair, and it says at the bottom "to uninstall, go to the help tab of the settings application".

Does it even make sense that a codec pack would eliminate my "convert to DV RMS format" option?

So I ended up uninstalling via the odd method they offer, but my convert to dv rms is still gone from my menu shell.....

If for some reason my "rar" options disappeared from my menu, I could uninstall and reinstall winrar, but what do you do when what seemed to be an integral feature of the OS disppears?

I have never seen a "convert WTV to DV RMS" option, on any of my win7 installs, so I would assume that this, like you example RAR option is added by a third party application.

This being the case you would need to re-install or repair he installation that provided the option in the first instance.

With regard to Shark007 removing this link I would be surprised if this was the case as the codec pack is designed not to remove or change anything that already exists.

Shark007 is a member here, at SevenForums, perhaps you could contact him via PM and see if he has any ideas, on this, or check on his own site

Hmm, I just thought it was a standard feature.....either way, what do you use to get the option in explorers menu shell?

As stated in my first post - you would need to re-install whatever application added the option to the context menu - This may have been something that you added yourself, or it may have been something that was installed by the supplier of the system.

A lot of OEM manufactures (Dell, HP, Etc), will include some form of Multimedia application pre-installed with the systems they sell, It could be this that has given you the option.

As these are often a trial, people will remove the app and this will also cause the extra options that came with the Application to be removed also.

The thing is that you may not need the convert option if you have something like Shark installed - the whole purpose of the Codec packs is to remove the need for conversion by allowing the system to play formats natively.

If you do require a converter then as this is not my area I cannot recommend a particular application but I'm sure many are available, both commercial and free
