Windows Media player & Windows live messenger Issues.

Tried searching but didnt find anything from this year

Problems I have include windows media player and windows live messenger

Windows Media Player I will start with, I used to have no problems with this application, since yesterday night I have been having the issue of having audio files on my desktop I right click them (.mp3 files) and goto add to windows media player list, it then hangs for about 10 seconds and pops up with an error message has the file location and the following message "Server execution failed" also I cant open windows media player without right clicking and going to run as admin, before I could do both actions without a problem.

Moving onto Windows Live Messenger, this issue also started around the same time as the windows media player one, so I believe them to be effected by the same fault.
The program loads up fine but when i sign in it just automatically signs me out and takes me back to the login page.

Like i say both applications worked prior.

The only edits I have done that could explain this, would be deletion of registry keys, if this could cause it let me know and I will try a system restore.

Doesn't make sense to me. Try to disable UAC following these instructions. If that doesn't help with Windows Media Player, then it is probably a malware related issue. After attempting your restore, if the issue persists, you may need to re-install Windows 7 and follow everything you had done step by step to see what may have caused it.

If you can't find a cause it is most likely malware.
