Ah, ok.
Umm, unchecking the system monitoring doesn't stop it from monitoring, and if you delete the key it adds for monitoring, next time you start CC up, it adds the key again.
Think I'll uninstall it until they fix that forced monitoring.
I clicked the update within CC, and it took me to piriforms page with a notice of the new version, not filehippo.
I don't understand why it even needs checking for updates when the post I put in with the pic re Options > Settings and ticking the box I showed spits the update up as soon as you open CCleaner
Right now I'm moving programs from "Installed" to "Portable/Standalone" as much as possible.
I just downloaded the latest Standalone CCleaner version.
I'm not seeing the issues being discussed now with the Standalone.
Does anyone know of a reason to use the Installed version rather than than Standalone ?
I'm trying to reduce my maintenance time, but don't want to lose any benefits of the installed version.
Also, when I help people via Teamviewer I prefer to NOT install anything to try and help them.
TO ME, it seems portable/standalone versions are safer to use with remote help ...
I also unchecked all system monitorings and used to uncheck for automatic update search since a while now....Zipped Piriform Ltd version 4.17 to attached files!
