    Well, there is a tool

    AND there is a setting

I think the setting is unchecked by default. And you'd have to knowingly use the tool. Checking the setting give a warning

But it doesn't mention SSDs. Checking to wipe with the tool does give a warning on SSDs

Interesting, I just have never had reason to wipe free space, nor thought it a good idea on my SSD.

EDIT: I see you have to set the parameters in Settings for the wipe setting, and it will indeed throw up the SSD warning. So it has always been there.

Hmm good job you saw that Bill I have never set the wipe space not even with spinners how it got like that is either a miss type by me or some setting that crept in.

I'm not sure that running it rarely would damage the SSD but it is claimed above that trim enabled SSDs don't leave the deleted files behind. You could have old files lying around if you have system protection turned on and I don't think wiping deleted space will get rid of these.

    Hideous W8-Style GUI

    "New improved GUI"?
    The new GUI is hideous.

    hideous
    adjective
    1. horrible or frightful to the senses; repulsive; very ugly:

    "a hideous monster."
It seems that a few other people aren't impressed either.

It would appear that Piriform is attempting to make the icons/GUI look like Win 8. Fail.

Yeah, I knew from the Beta it wasn't going to look good. But since it's still the same layout, and choices are few, and I only see it for a dew moments...eh.

Every app is going with that new hideous 8 ui. And it is absolutely horrible.
