Agreed. The Metro interface is one of the worst ideas Microsoft ever had. Not only is it unimaginative and unattractive, it also takes up too much screen space with useless single-color pixels.

    Metro: Bah Humbug to you.

It's a shame all the developers have decided that that interface is "modern". If the app works, I can take it. A Guy

Mate I really don't like it for the most part but the 8.1 can be run in 7 style what I don't really like is the change to backup and restore to Recovery and File options and I particularly don't like the msconfig set up tabs etc etc it makes it hard to easily find what you want.

CCleaner v5.0 is now available in Beta!

After months of design, development and testing we are very excited to announce that CCleaner v5.0 is available to download in Beta!

CCleaner v5.0 sees a change with a redesigned, modern interface. The current interface you know and love has remained largely the same since its first release almost 10 years ago, so we decided it was time to give it a fresh new look!

Our design team have worked hard to bring CCleaner up-to-date while making sure it still felt like the same tool that our hundreds of millions of users love. We are extremely happy with the result, and we hope you are too!

For advanced users we have a beta version of CCleaner v5 available for you to download. (We don't recommend using this outside of test environments.)

    Download CCleaner v5.0 Beta

This build includes just the interface change. The other features will be coming over the next week, with a final release build at the end of the month.

Unsure, perhaps a generic warning for wiping drive space? A Guy

Ahhh, yes, a prudent warning. That function is for a spinner drive. It would result in a large number of writes to a SSD, and not accomplish the desired result. A Guy

Have you been using that function? I always had it unchecked Obviously hasn't borked your SSD, but has perhaps shortened it's life. A Guy
