Hmm, usually a quickie piggyback update means they found a regression to correct. :) Either that or someone misspelled the product name in a Logo or something. :)

Right after a new release is announced I always look here to see if anyone complains about a big bug. Usually the coast is clear. But it never hurts to be a bit paranoid. :)

I just had a weird experience with v5.24.5841. When I installed it everything on my PC started acting sluggish. When I opened a program it took like 3 or 4 minutes for it to open. I uninstalled it and restarted my computer and now it's backed to normal. So I reinstalled v5.22.5724 back, which is the last one I had.

I have been using the portable zips. It includes both a 32 and 64 bit version. The only weird thing I ever had with CCleaner was a bug in the Registry Clean/Fix function. But that was fixed in the very next release(this was a couple of years back.)

Even so I use a Registry Backup freeware from tweaking.com before I do any registry clean no matter what cleaner I use. The nice thing about this backup is it uses the VSS service. This allows it to back up all registry hives even though the system is running. The main drawback is that you must boot to Safe Mode to use the registry restore function.

Hmm, the usual Builds page download link brings me back in a circle to the product comparison chart. I had to down it from Softpedia.

It usually takes me to a webpage where it either downloads via Piriform or Filehippo. This time I downloaded through Filehippo.

Looks like File hippo has paid for exclusive download rights, However if you use the tiny piriform link on the FH page it takes you to the piriform download page - strangely enough after the first offer is declined the smal notification that appears at the bottom of the CCleaner dialogue still takes you to the Piriform d/l page
