Still free. An add for an upgrade to their free product is not unreasonable for a free product. A Guy

Is CCleaner Portable 5.32.6129 (the last version before the virus infection and the Avast takeover) any better than the newest version privacy-wise?

I haven't updated it since CCleaner Slim 4.17.4808

    Auto-Updated!

I just discovered that my CCleaner v5.43.6522 (Free) somehow auto-updated itself to v5.46.6652 (on the 10th of September) despite auto-update only being available in the Pro version.

There is an auto-update executable (CCupdate.exe) in your CCleaner folder that allows Piriform to update to the latest version without permission from users. If you delete the executable, it shouldn't update, or so I'm been informed. This is being done across the board affecting all users who run an older version of CCleaner.

I found a CCleaner Update task in the Task Scheduler.
I've disabled it, so it shouldn't happen again.

CCleaner 5.47 has been pulled according to Piriforms website due to a bug regarding usage data.

Is it possible to get that version still?
