    Still getting PS CS4 error

Even after I took full ownership of the C:\Windows\winsxs\ directory and add the files Kirk posted and said it would fix this error

Error 1603. Error 1310.Error writing to file: C:\Windows\winsxs\Manifests\x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.762_x-ww_6b128700.manifest. Verify that you have access to that directory."

I still get it, for lots of people it worked, but still not for me andy help please?

    Hi there
I'm a big user of CS4 --am running the CS4 extended version.
You shouldn't need any registry hacks etc etc.

The best way of doing this as far as I can see is

    1) Re-download the TRIAL version again from the adobe site.

    2) Install it as per instructions - don't enter any serial numbers etc at this stage. If it prompts you for one at install time just say you are installing the trial. Just ignore the "OS is not recognized" or similar message.

    3) After install start it up and then enter your Serial Number. -- It will activate (hopefully) and the you are all set to go.

BTW - don't forget to "Transfer activation" from your previous machine before installing or it won't work.

If you are using a "Non Kosher" version then "all bets are off".

If you use camera "RAW" processing don't forget to include that to the plugin section on both the X-86 and windows directory (if you are running any X-64 version of W7).

If you are not sure about "Adobe RAW" just reply to this post.

    Cheers
