I guess. :) Started with mIRC, then VirtualIRC and AdiIRC after that. IRC is just lines of text, no need for any fancy bells and whistles. With Irssi you don't need bouncers, logs etc, you can connect from anywhere, with your cell for example, and continue where you left. Handy. Putty only takes 2-3MB unlike mIRC etc bloatcraps.

    Doesnt it look pretty? :P

mIRC can be used (successfully) on Window's 7. You have to install the Microsoft "Hotfix" for MS Agent.

I use IceChat.. mainly because I could fumble through it and get stuff done. I don't use Irc much as must be obvious. :)

It does what I need without fighting me too much. I can bludgeon it into submission rather than read the docs. My kind of software.

I have used mIRC for years, and love it, but the most current version 6.35 doesn't support Windows 7 OS! Is any other IRC software as easy and fun to use?

Nice, I read the disclaimer on the Windows 7 IRC hotfix, and become alarmed about installing it. The more links I followed, the more hesitant I become. Besides Windows 7, I have a 64 bit system, but don't know how that would effect mIRC. I will be sad to give up mIRC, such a long time friend to AuntieGen!
