One very popular program is CCleaner.

Be careful with the registry cleaners. Often times they do more harm than good.

CCleaner is excellent. I've been using it since it's inception, and have only had a positive experience with it. I don't know why anyone would have negative feelings about it. Perhaps they they misuse it. If you start using it, leave the default settings applied.

CCleaner does a very good job cleaning out junk.

Just don't use the reg cleaner part. Reg cleaners are unnecessary at best, harmful and dangerous at worst.

    Hello Rmw020 Welcome to SF,

Its quiet hard to find any software without any negatives. CCleaner is great software. Also Glary Utilities is also a good one. But before you run it just create a Restore point in case your using any of the Registry Cleaners.

    Hope this helps,
    Captain

I use the registry cleaner on CCleaner constantly, and have never had any major issues with it. It will delete some icons every now and again, but if you made a registry backup beforehand, they can be recovered easily.

I use Revo Uninstaller, It's very good and after it uninstalls it scans your system for any left over files. It's fast as well.

The FREE version is 32bit ONLY. The Pro version supports 64bit but is a 30day Trail only and then you have to buy it. See the notes at bottom of this page.

Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download
