    outlook 2007 not updating

    hi there,

i run windows 7 ultimate, office 07, and IE8 on my HP media center pc. I cannot get my office package to check for updates from in the program, I can go direct to office online and get updates though.
I get a msg that says" this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in place on this computer" problem is I never put any restrictions in place...

also I cannot open a hyper link from the body of an email either, I get the same error message. i'm using outlook 2007 as my emial client.

the computer is completley up to date as well.

    pls help.

An update to IE7 caused this to happen on my computer. Since I do not use IE as my primary browser, I uninstalled the update and all worked well.

The specific update that caused the problem for me was -

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows 7 (KB980182) Download size: 7.3 MB

    Update type: Important

Security issues have been identified that could allow an attacker to compromise a system that is running Microsoft Internet Explorer and gain control over it. You can help protect your system by installing this update from Microsoft. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.
