I type in skype.com and I downloaded the program from its online site.it is not working the way I wanted to can you take me step by step for the skype fix
What exactly is wrong with your Skype now. You said in an earlier post that after you re-installed Skype it, quote: "it took my old skype settings after the download"
Your Skype settings ar stored on the Skype website and not in your PC. You can sign into your Skype account from any PC and you will have the same settings. This is perfectly normal. Just post here what the exact problem is that you are having and someone will help!

Sorry but I am no wiser as to what your problem is, I cannot work out what the above means, sorry!
Just a thought, are you saying that Skype opens to the login screen and from there you can't login? To say you can't logout suggests you must be logged in in the first place.
One final thought, When you uninstalled Skype, did you just use the Add/Remove option in Control panel or did you go into the registry to check that no legacy settings were left behind?

Uninstall skype from add/remove control panel > go to start icon > type regedit> you will get an icon named regedit > click it > that will open your registery > click the arrow next to HKEY_current user >software > skype ..delete it > HKEY_local machine >click arrow >software >skype.. delete it > close registery.. go to your program files >delete skype folder > go to program data >Delete skype folder > restart and install a fresh skype .. good luck and please let us know how you got on ..you very welcome to send me Private email if I can help more .

    2. In Windows, click

Firefox should start up with a Firefox Safe Mode dialog.

    3. In the Firefox Safe Mode window, select Reset toolbars and controls.
    4. Click
      Make Changes and Restart
      .
Try those steps and it should sort the problem.. If not you have to uninstall Firefox and re install it again .... Good luck
