How to change default player for MMS: ?

I want to change default player from Windows Media Player to VLC for streaming TV.

    Example: mms://media.tv.consoll.no/tv2sport

    How do I do that?

You would usually do that here: Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Associations. But you need to know the filetype.

Just left mouse click on exemple link you posted. A window will prompt, click "search", find VLC instalation folder and select "VLC.exe".

    Hope it helps!!!

Nope. When I leftclick the link, Windows Media Player starts up automatic. No selection or search window is shown.

AFAIK there IS no filetype in a streamed TV, it is all done by the MMS:// protocol.

I am unable to find anything that can switch the default player, when there is no filetype, as in streaming TV.

The inserted picture you have put here, I do not see. When I click on the link WMP starts up right away with no change to change anything.

    example:
if u want to play WMV/AVI/MPG/Mp4 etc files with VLC
Right click on a associated WMV/AVI/MPG/Mp4 file.
    click>open with
    click>choose Default program
Select VLC player enlisted from there or browse for i
Check "Always use this selected program to open this file"
    Click okey.

here u are, all .wmv file will open with vlc.

for streaming TV? do u think vlc supports this? if not then u will fail.
but i got another solution for u
