    Netbeans 6.8 taking too much time to start on windows 7


    Netbeans 6.8 , 6.5 , zip distro ..all are taking too much time(around 40 minutes) to start on windows 7
    whereas it is working well in windows xp(within 10 minutes) . My jdk is version 6 update 20 , so no compatibility problem

    Also , theres no problem , with netbeans.exe file because , the log files it generates are fine during start up .
    There has to be some reason related to the platform
    Could anyone suggest , the reason and the solution .

    Apparently there are a few fixes:

    • Delete NetBeans related folders within your user directory
    • Run CCleaner
    • Turn off "to-do" scanning (just close the "Tasks" window and uncheck "Enable Java Tasklist":
      • Tools->Options->Editor->Tasklist (if your ide already loaded).

    Please , mention , do i have to do this , after uninstalling netbeans or after i reinstall . Also mention that is some particular version of ccleaner required to run .
    Actually , this problem consumes so much of my time , so could you please tell how long (estimated) time will it take.
    And finally , what is the reason of the hang up ?? i still cant get it??
