I think the only solution is some 3rd party hardware like this Matrox Graphics - Products - Graphics eXpansion Module - TripleHead2Go.

you can use a USB video adapter to add the 3rd screen if it is a limitation of your laptop.
EVGA | USB Devices | EVGA UV Plus+
I don't need DVI, the laptop has VGA and HDMI integrated, and I have a HDMI screen and a VGA screen so the problem is how to get all three working

If your laptop will not run 3 screens on its own, then you need to add the above device I linked. you can use a DVI to HDMI cable to hook up your HDMI screen.

Ah I am sorry. My laptop has a VGA and HDMI too, but I dont use both at once. it has a GTX 260M.... I thought you had a laptop graphics card. I will test when I can for my lappy. What kind of graphics do you have?

NOTE: Can you close the other thread (report it as a duplicate). We will post in this one to find a cure.

Tested. I could not get VGA and my HDMI to DVI and my laptop monitor to run at the same time.

I was able to close the lid and the VGA and HDMI monitors both worked (still only two monitors).
