Registry Mechanic is best to tweak registry.
Registry Mechanic is best to tweak registry.
I've been using registry scanners/cleaners for years. This time around, with Seven, I decided to see how it would run if I'd just set the thing up and leave it alone. I've got to say that, at this point, I simply do not miss those "fix-it" utilities. This machine has been running almost constantly since December - doing software development and everything else I use a machine for and I've noticed no slowdowns or bad behavior of any kind. I simply let the built-in defrag work on schedule and do a backup with image every couple of weeks. The thing has been solid as a rock.
I figured that (for me at least) it has gotten to be time to just let the system work and quit micromanaging the thing. So far so good.

Windows 7 does not need those reg cleaners, to use them is to look for trouble. Just maintain the computer properly.
IE8 "Send Link by Email" Function No Longer Works...
windows 7 doesn't need a reg tweaking . Unless you tend to interfere or modify the reg on your own and installing something without creating a restore point or image backup :)
Can someone please help me with this problem: TuneUp Utilities 2010 - TuneUp Disk Doctor problem
I don't suggest you use optimizer, I have used a few before and usually after some time, the system was affected.
You can 'Run' the following command
cleanmgr /sageset:99 (then select all you want to clean)
cleanmgr /SAGERUN:99 (it will delete what you choose)
It's a powerful tool of Windows, and won't affect your system any all.
They are both excellent programs and are nothing like the programs mentioned at the start of the thread.
Another good Defragger is Defraggler by the developers of Ccleaner (Piriform).niceget said:
Have used CCLeaner "Run Cleaner" and Registry tab, followed by Auslogics Disk and Registry defraggers for over 10 years on hundreds of installs with out a single issue.
Most other Reg cleaners are sales operations without any real genius behind them like CCleaner.
Windows 7 needs no tweaking other than normal settings as many of us who beta tested it for over a year discovered the hard way.
