Yes, I agree. Revo and CCleaner are nice additions to anyone's Windows OS. However, when the Registry cleaner is used, a person should still be vigilant about what to "fix". All in all I give the registry cleaner a "thumbs up". It's not as powerful as the pay-for cleaners and therefore does not rip the registry to shreds. None the less---if one uses it, they should be certain they have created a "System Restore" before doing so either through the program or through System Protection.

Don't waste your time with registry cleaners or defrag programs. They are unnecessary in Windows 7. If you want faster, add more RAM or get a separate DX9 card with 128MB RAM, which is around $20-25 in most cases. It's well worth it to have Aero.

What about defragmenting the registry? When I used XP, there was a small program called NTREGOPT that I used.

Win 7 is not XP, no reg cleaners or any other kind are needed.

In a nutshell, Registry defragger programs are a myth, too. They might trim the registry size by 8-12MB; but will not improve operating system performance. In fact, your programs’ performance will decrease.

Win 7 is nothing like XP. You can forget all you learned about tweaking XP; it will not work for Win 7.

I use c cleaner for years now and I'm very happy with it. Even happier that they now have a product upgrade to accommodate Windows 7.

Though many people are still skeptic about registry cleaner software I still prefer to have them. Using a valid registry utility program should be able to prove these people wrong. I used to have problems with my computer but once I use my cleaner application my computer's spend dramatically changes

so I don't see any reason why shouldn't I use it with my Windows 7. Even if they say that it is already a complete package I still believe that employing a third party registry cleaner will do more good otherwise these product provider would have ceased developing a Windows 7 compatible version of their applications.

I have seen folks post here with problems because they blindly followed Ccleaner and messed up their registries,. Registry cleaners should only be used by folks who are experienced with what should be in the registry and what should not. If you are in the category, that is good. I use Ccleaner, too, but I rarely use the registry portion. Windows 7 manages the registry very well. There are some very solid reasons not to use a registry cleaner on Win 7 - unless you are truly versed in the registry. Win 7 is nothing like XP.
