    Java, update error

    Hola,

    I just did a Java Update to V6, Update 16 on my new laptop with Win7. At the end of the update, I got the message; "Error: Wrapper-CreateFile failed with Error 5: Access is denied". Is this a problem?

    Gracias,

    Probably. Try going to a web site that uses java. Failing that you may have to re-install as an administrator. Then you should not get that error

    Test the version:

    Java Version Test

    BTW, the current update is 6 Update 20

    Also, you can remove older versions as they are not automatically removed and can represent a security risk. I use JavaRa

    JavaRa

    Also suggest Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) to test for insecure programs and addons

    PSI

    You will find some browsers insecure, if yours are up to date, it usually means the company hasn't addressed the vulnerabilities yet.

    I fixed my problem by:
    * Uninstalling from MY directory
    * Installing as Administrator
    * Removing from SUN down from MY directory. It wasn't till I did this step that it finally worked.
