    If you still want to go for a registry cleaner I would advise you to check out glary utilities which is free. I have used it and it is much more than a registry cleaner and a great software. Just make sure that you skip the box of installing their search bar on your browser while you install it for the first time. If you skip the bar everything else is quite ok. I have not used it for a long time and I dont have it in Windows 7 but it is a good software I used previously.

    I have personally used a number of these on my own system, well backed up. But I wouldn't recommend them, which is why I didn't list them. If I mess up my machine fine, but I won't recommend things that might mess up yours :)
