    Software won't save hardware.

I use a cad at work. We aquired a new scanner and the one of the programs finds and installs the hardware but the other program will manually install the hardware but then won't save the hardware it just found . The first program did the same thing when first loaded but after adjusting privileges it did save the hardware.

    Welcome to the forums Trav.

You may need to inquiry the supplier of the "other program".

Regarding Windows 7, is the hardware correctly installed, drivers up to date and no problems reported in device manager?

Both programs came with the new scanner. Both acted the same at first. One will autodetect the hardware is connected and it works great but the other just won't load the scanner came with the software. I know people that are useing both and I feel it is related to credentials or admin privileges. The software will let me manuelly select a port and it finds the hardware but then it should save and you exit and calibrate but when you exit you get "hardware not installed yet".

    Thanks for your time wallyinnc.

The scanner came with ver 3.70. I've looked for an update for the 3.7 but have not even found 3.7 available for download yet. The 3.7 is the first ver designed for a 64 bit os and Windows 7.
