Also if i accidentely deleted some data i can restore it with the help of this free program: Undelete - How To Undelete Files - Undelete Deleted Files - Undelete Software
works best for me)
Windows has a shortcut to open the Property Page of a file or folder selected in Explorer. Alt Enter. At least on my machine it only opens one property page even if you have 4 files selected(grabs the first one it sees?) (edit: nope, guess it does the size total etc. as if you right click and press Properties.. but that's not what this is about.)
PropPage 1.1 is a simple hotkey that sits in the tray. The default hotkey is Control F6 but it may be changed using the Tray Menu. Select one or more files or folders in Explorer, press the hotkey. The Property Page for each should be opened.
Windows tends to stack them so that it appears as though there's only one page until you move them around. If you set the check mark on the Tray Menu option Place Windows, the program will attempt to unstack them after they are displayed.
Use the command Set Tab Name to attempt to open the Property Page with that Tab in the foreground. If the tab name does not exist the default it displayed.
Example usage: You intend to use it mainly to set the Sharing Properties on folders.
Use the Set Tab Name command in Tray Menu to set the tab name to Sharing.
Now when you select several folders and hit the hotkey, the property page for each will be opened to the Sharing Tab.
If you inadvertently open say 64 Property Pages and many are off the desktop a trick to undo that is just use the Quit Tray Menu command. When PropPage is closed, any Property Pages it has open will close.
It's just a hotkey convenience utility. It's not meant for opening 4000 Property Pages. :)
PropPage is free for you to use at your own risk.
You may download from my Hotkeys Page

I have had a quick flick through but didn't see this one - anyone come across it as it sounds rather interesting and perhaps handy.
LiberKey - Portable Applications
Yes Have used it in the past and though good I find PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives more polished, Though Liberkey can be more efficient - I have actually run both on the same PenDrive :)
Thanks Nigel that looks like a real nice little site to boot - pun intended
Might just run that through the Vista machine and have ago. a bit OT but Its a Vista machine that always telling me the last backup failed yet the disk manger gives me exactly the same on the C: and the external.![]()
Probably best to start a thread in the appropriate forum for the vista issue or have a look at www.vistax64.com to see if it's a known issue. I can remember Vista backup having a few issues especially with system backups where the files are constantly changing even during the verify stage
want to know when your machine was on/off during the last few weeks?
try pc on/off time - great little portable app.
it will even show you data for your networked machines too.
here are my results, for instance:
you can see that i'm a late riser :)
I had some issues myself with Vista, so ended up going with Acronis for all my backups. Have since moved over to the free EaseUS backup, and don't have any problems. I normally try to use the built in software with Windows but sometimes it's not always possible, I always try it first and then if it's a problem, only then consider other options. The windows backup is working fine for millions of users, both images and data, just that my needs are a bit special at times as I'm dealing with other peoples dataas well as my own
