No problem Brink!Glad that I can help.
I've been using KMPlayer for 1 year now, and it's the BEST video and audio player you can find!!! You don't have to install any codec 'couse KMPlayer got it all!and it's FREE!
(and this time I've search you're thread and didn't found it)
KMPlayer is an excellent video and audio player which can play a large amount of formats such as VCD, DVD, AVI, MPEG-1/2/4, WMV, RealMedia, and QuickTime among others. It handles subtitles and allows you to capture screenshots.
You can set audio and video effects, slow down or increase playback speed, select parts of a video as favorites, and many more. KMPlayer is completely customizable thanks to a wide selection of skins and color schemes, and the configuration options are extensive. KMPlayer is a flexible, free and practical media player.

and what about Skype? It's working great on win7! I found that it's mentioned on page 6 but didn't get on the "big list"...

GFI Backup Free
Free backup software for Windows - GFI Backup Home Edition
Tested on Win7 - 7127.
A sample test that was succesful;
GFI completely rewrote Titan Backup and, I think, has a hit on their hands. Very thorough feature set.
- I chose to have it backup specific folders
- I let GFI figure out where my .pst, favs, etc exist
- it even backs up some customizations by ripping it outa the registry
(someday I'll throw a sig in here...)
I'm using GigaGet download manager with Minefield and Flashgot. Works great in W7 7077 and Vista64 SP1. btw-if you update Minefield to the nightly builds make sure GigaGet is running otherwise you may have to uninstall flashgot and reinstall to get it back. That's the only "quirk" I've seen with it.
I don't know if you want to add this one .. But it's one of my favorites ...
And I just tried it in W7.
