Yeah, it's a shame the Borland didn't hang around until 64 bit came into its own. Some nice programs are going to fade away because of it. Some people are trying to do a "Lazarus" 64 bit Delphi compatible comiler/IDE. I wish them luck. I tried it a bit and it just didn't feel or look the same.
One of my favorite apps that probably won't port to 64 bit is FreeCommander file manager.
I still have Borland Delphi 5 Pro. You can write 32 bit apps that will run on Windows but some of the components and controls that came with the compiler lacked a few features so a 3rd party group created a bunch of customized versions. Project Jedi had controls similar but with added doodads. Once your code gets dependent then if you reinstall D5 you need to reinstall the Jedi stuff with the compiler fixes. After awhile I got tired of installing the layers of stuff. Now I mostly use AutoIt3 to do small utilities.
The Borland Delphi thing was cool though. Lots of people would make components and give them away for other Delphi programmers to use.
Here is one good program (free Hyper Cam) if you want to make video captures from your screen. It produces very good quality videos and is easy to use. One peculiarity is that they want you to start the program from a toolbar in your browser (go figure). Else it has some nice features like start/stop via F2 and pause/resume via F3. You can also define the frequency of the key frames which might be important for editing. If you use a lossless video editor like Machete, you can only crop on key frames.
If this has been posted already I am sorry
