    This is must have tool!

    FileHippo.com Update Checker

    What is it?
    The Update Checker will scan your computer for installed software, check the versions and then send this information to FileHippo.com to see if there are any newer releases. These are then neatly displayed in your browser for you to download. Please note that not all programs are supported.

    But it gets better...
    The client is FREE, just over 200kb to download and only takes seconds to run! In fact on our test machines the process is complete in under 2 seconds!

    It must be in an early stage, because even though you said that it doesn't support all programs, I would say that it supports very few. I have a lot of programs installed, and File Hippo has a lot of programs to download, but the updater only found 1 normal update (Open Office), and two betas (both flash player).

    I'm curious, do you have it set to run at boot? When I installed it, it ran automatically when I closed the installer. In the very short time that it ran before popping the window with the update options, I doubt that it could have checked all installed programs, transmitted the data to File Hippo, and received a very comprehensive list of choices.

    I was checking out Cameyo as I could use a virtualization program like this. Here are some comments I came across in The Softpedia Review of Cameyo...

    Our experience with the virtualized results of Cameyo was not too pleasant. From all the aforementioned programs only FileZilla and uTorrent worked. Maxthon 3 would crash every time we tried to launch it while Google Chrome’s interface loaded, but nothing worked as its tabs would crash and later attempts faced us with a fatal error informing us that the virtual key could not be opened, so the application would no longer load.

    Virtualized application remains installed on the host system and in case virtualization does not succeed as planned you have to uninstall them in order to repeat the procedure. Cameyo’s approach on virtualization is indeed great, but the implementation needs some serious work in order to result in a stable application ready to tackle just about any sort of software.

    At first I was hoping that I could use Cameyo to create a virtual .exe of a program without having to install it on my computer's SSD, but apparently that is not the way that the program works, but thank you very much for bringing this program to our attention.

    I have only tried Cameyo with a couple of small applications, more out of curiosity than any need. Both worked.

    You might like to try this? ;

    I posted a question on the forum for the free version several weeks ago. The author was very responsive and helpful:

    I don't have a real need to use the program at present. But I added it to the toolbox.

    I don't know how great it is, but since it is from Nero and it is free, which is an unusual combination, I felt that it needed to be posted:
